OBITUARY.
Elizabeth Shryock was born Oct. 3, 1847, at Barry, Ill., and passed away at King City, Mo., Sep. 9, 1930, age 82 years, 11 months and 6 days. She was married to Richard Dye in 1868 (sic), and to this union was born four children. Mr. Dye and two children preceded her in death many years ago.
In 1900 she was married to C. C. Shryock at Hannibal, Mo., her old home where she had lived 59 years. Mr. Shryock passed away three years ago, and Mrs. Shryock then came to King City to live with her daughters, Mrs. T. H. Lawson and Mrs. W. E. Spence.
Three months ago she fell and fractured her hip and had been confined to her bed at the home of Mrs. Lawson, where she passed away.
These two daughters and one grandson, William E. Spence, Jr., of Kansas City, are left to mourn her loss. She was a member of the Free Methodist church (sic) of Hannibal, and was a devoted mother and true Christian.
Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. H. Lawson, Thursday afternoon, at 2:00 p. m., conducted by Rev. W. G. Rector. The burial was in the King City cemetery (sic). - King City Chronicle
