Born to Louis Masson (Macon) and Marie-Louise Morissette he was baptised in 1814 at St-Luc, St-Jean, Quebec, Canada. He first married Marie-Anne Amiel dit Lusignan and had several children one being my gg grandmother Marie-Aurelie Masson (Orilla Mason Russell). His mother was the godmother for his daughter Zoe. After her death he married Marie Louise Paquet who gave birth to Joseph Masson in 1849 and had an untimely death in 1851. Sometime before 1854 he married Hedwidge Grenier who seems to have gone by other variations of her name. She was likely the sister of his former brother in law's neighbor. Before her death the two were the godparents for a child born to a woman who's grandparents were the same as Louise Paquet's parents. Hedwidge is buried in 1868 with Louise's son Joseph attending. Finally John marries Sarah Persons the widow of Greene Tibits. They are together until his death in November of 1883, Knowlton Lac Brome, Quebec. Jean Baptiste was buried in Cimetière Catholique along St-Paul Rd in Knowlton which caters to the Catholics of St-Edouard de Knowlton.
