Obituary for Robert M Alexander
Robert Alexander, 58, of Fergus Falls, MN passed away unexpectedly Friday June 27, 2014 at the MN Veterans Home, Fergus Falls, MN.

Robert Martin Alexander was born March 28, 1956 in Alexandria, VA to Clyde O. and Arlene (Miller) Alexander. He moved to Waseca, MN with his family after his father’s death. At age 17 he entered the Navy and spent his career aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Upon his discharge he located to Oakland, CA residing there until he had a stroke in 2009. After the stroke he was transported to Bemidji, MN where he resided in assisted living that included REM Grandview. He was happy to be back in Minnesota with his two sisters and eagerly awaited an opening at the VA Home in Fergus Falls.

Robert enjoyed anything to do with motorcycles. He was a Harley Davidson “fanatic” who rode, repaired and even crashed a few. A big highlight of his life was telling others he played football with President Gerald Ford’s son Steven. His nickname was “Fat Robert” for his professional pool playing skills.

He is survived by two daughters, Amanda (Mark) Wilson of McKinleyville, CA and Andrea Alexander of Oakland CA; sisters Katherine (Jerry) Flogstad of Waseca, MN and Karen “Bubbles” (Dennis) Thompson of Bemidji, MN; nephews Michael Flogstad of Bemidji, MN; Steven Flogstad of Waseca, MN; and John Thompson of Spring Lake Park, MN; niece Sandra Thompson and great nephew Owen Thompson of Bemidji, MN and niece Laura Thompson (fiancé Joe Gish) of Bemidji, MN/Fargo, ND.

Robert was preceded in death by his father in 1973, his mother in 2004 and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Cremation arrangements per his request by Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Fergus Falls, MN.

Roberts’s wishes were to have no funeral service. If you would like to make a memorial, the family is certain he would prefer them to the Vets Home, where they took such wonderful care of him. The address is: Fergus Falls MN Veterans Home, 1821 N. Park St. Fergus Falls, MN 56537
