Richard William Bourdeau was born Nov. 15, 1911 at Turton, South Dakota., the son of Delia Langlois and George Boudreau. He made his home in Faribault, where he attended Sacred Heart School, and in Northfield before coming to Northfield, before coming to Austin.
He was united in marriage with Catherine Bowe in Northfield, on Sept. 3, 1938 and to them were born a son and three daughters.
For the past 22 years, the family home was at 1005 Clark.
Mr. Boudreau was drowned about 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug 9, at Red Wing, Minn. He was 46 years of age.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine; son, Pieree; daughters; Arlette, Lynette and Deneige, Austin; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Blais (Rosella), Van Nuys, Calif.,;and Mrs. Robert Sharpe (Bernette), Corpus Christi, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Queen of Angels Church, Msgr. D.A. Cunningham officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with the Mayer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Out of town people attending the funeral came from Chicago, Lockport and Joliet, Ill.; Northfield, Faribault, Red Wing, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Albert Lea, Glenville, Farmington, Hampton and Welch, Minn.

Local Man One of 4 Weekend Drownings
Richard W. Boudreau, 46 year odl, Goe. A. Hormel & Co. ham boner drowned Saturday in the Mississippi River near Red Wing. Boudreau, 1005 Clark, reportedly was tinkering with the motor while the boat was docked when the mishap occured.
Attending Riverama: Boudreau and a friend, Harry Rathke, 1204 Park, were attending the Red Wing Riverama. Rathke went ashore to get a gasoline can filled, while Boudreau remained in the 14 foot outbaord craft.
A ten minute search in the six foot deep muddy waters near the dock resulted in the recovery of the body. Boudreau had worked at Hormel's since 1936, when he came to Austin from his native Northfield. Survivors are his wife, Catherine, a son, Pierre, three daughters: Arlette, Lynette and Deneige, at home; five brothers, Uran Boudreau,Austin, Louis Boudreau, and Aime Boudreau, Northfield, Euclid and Everett, Faribault; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Blais (Rosella), Van Nuys, Calif.,;and Mrs. Robert Sharpe (Bernette), Corpus Christi, Texas.
