Joseph Boone Blair, 87, of St. Francis, died at 3:05 a.m. December 26, 1999, at Norton Hospital, Louisville.

He was born on October 20, 1912, in Saint Francis, Kentucky, the son of William Tyler Blair and Lettie Samuel Devine.

Joseph was a retired employee of the Seagram Distilling Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joseph Paul Blair, on Jan. 27, 1998, and three sisters, Oma Miles, Effie Mae Cross, and Nora Belle Miles.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Neoma Blair, and five daughters, Mrs. Junior (Joyce) Leake of Mt. Washington, Mrs. Jim (Charlotte Ann) Stuckey of Greenwood, Ind., Linda Blandford of St. Francis, Mrs. Danny (Martha) Lyvers of Loretto, and Mrs. Kenny (Sandra) Elder of St. Mary; and two sons, Jerry Blair of Indianapolis, Ind., and George Tony Blair of Loretto; a sister, Ann Law of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Tony Blair of St. Francis; 28 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral Mass was held on December 29 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis, with burial in the church cemetery. The chief celebrant was Rev. Philip Erickson. Pallbearers were David, Steve, Kevin and Jeremy Blair, Robbie Leake, Daniel Lyvers, Billy Elder, Michael, and Dean Blanford.

Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, was in charge of the arrangements.
