He lived in Hollister for 14 years, coming from Dearborne Heights, Mich. He worked for Ford Motor Co. in Dearborne and retired in 1977 from Textron Inc., of Plymouth, Mich. after 20 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II where he was a radio repairman for the Air Corps. He was a Methodist. He was a life member of the Acacia Lodge 466, Birmingham, Mich.; life member of the York Rite Bodies, 1, Detroit, Mich.; a member of the Moslem Temple Shrine in Detroit, Mich., honorary member of Al Menah Temple in Nashville, Tenn., life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Plymouth, Mich.; life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10164, Interlachen; and member of the Putnam County Shrine Club, East Palatka.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Elbert Collum Sr., mother, Ann Collum, and sister, Mary Ann Brighhill.
He is survived by his wife, Helen H. Collum of Hollister.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Rev. Gene Maddox officiating. Burial was in Acacia Park Cemetery under the direction of Ashley-Scott Funeral Home, Hazel Park, Mich. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 15 Aug 1994.)
