Sammy Clay Holcomb, 64, a resident of Benton, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in a local hospital. He was a member of Kinser Church of God where he was an active member.

Mr. Holcomb was the son of the late Jeff Holcomb and Maggie Caroline Brancefield Holcomb and was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Kevin Holcomb.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Gail Hogsed Holcomb of Benton; one daughter, Amber Marie Holcomb of Benton; one step-daughter, Melissa Byers and husband, Chris of Wolf Creek, NC; six grandchildren: Michael Holcomb, Sierra Byers, Colin Byers, Cole Byers, Conner Byers and Cohutta Byers; three sisters: Ruby Lee Sigler of Maryville, Reba Sims and husband, Ray of Cleveland and Linda Sue Webb and husband, Dan of Cleveland; one brother, Bill Holcomb and wife, Pat of Benton; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Kinser Church of God with Reverend Guinn Green officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
