John L. Landsdown, 73, of Danville, Illinois passed away at 8:31 am on Monday, September 22, 2014 at his home.

John was born November 17, 1940 in Vermilion County, Illinois to Verle & Beatrice Claypool Landsdown. Survivors include: one son: Charles Landsdown of Fort Mill, South Carolina; three sisters: Mildred (Clair) Astell of Catlin, Illinois, Norma (William) Hayslett of Steger, Illinois, of Frances Dunn of Hoopeston, Illinois; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded by two sisters: Esther Rutledge & Vera Pettice.

John served in the Army and worked at Bonn Aluminum. He enjoyed fishing & reading and was a member of the Rossville American Legion.

Services 1:30 pm Wednesday at the Veterans Affairs Protestant Chapel with Reverend Matt Filicsky officiating. Burial in the National Cemetery in Danville with military honors by Georgetown American Legion Dornblaser Post 203. Robison Chapel in Catlin is handling service details.
