Gale H. Hardin, 80, of Maquoketa, Iowa, formerly of Dubuque and East Dubuque, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa, after an extended illness.

There will be no services or visitation. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Baldwin, Iowa. The Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.

In 1947, he began working for John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring in 1982.

Surviving are a son, David (Delma) Hardin, of Manchester; two daughters, Kim D'Ippoloito, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Sara (Dave) Gregory, of Dyersville, Iowa; a brother, Glen (Esther) Hardin, of Hopkinton, Iowa; and a sister, Glendola Bullock, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
