Florie was the son of Bert and Mary Delucchi Cassinelli. He worked for the Sierra Pacific Power Company in Reno, and was a veteran of World War I.

He was found dead in the Peavine Ditch on January 22, 1937, but wasn't identified until January 24. It was thought he had slipped and hit his head, and drowned in the ditch.

He was survived by his father, Bert Cassinelli; two brothers, Frank and Willie; and three sisters, Aliva Cassinelli and Mrs. Irene Porch of Reno, and Mrs. Nora Sterling of New York.
