Mrs. Melba Ann Brooks, 63, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday, October 3, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born in Houston, MS on January 27, 1951 to Thomas E. Allen and Lela E. Parker Allen.

Melba was a graduate of Okolona High School and retired after many years of employment as Shipping Manager for United Furniture Industries. She married Eddie Dean Brooks on October 2, 1969 and loved being a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was an active member and pianist at Bethany Church of God of Prophecy. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially the grandkids. She enjoyed gardening vegetables and doing her job. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2014 at Bethany Church of God of Prophecy on Hwy 32, Okolona, with Bro. Dean Allen, Bro. Joel Brooks, Bro. Herman Gray, and Bro. Edwin Pharr officiating. Musicians will be Mrs. Brenda Whitlock and Mr. Ben Hall. A graveside service will follow at East Chickasaw Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Holland Funeral Directors Okolona Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
