Daughter of Amasa and Lavina (Mixter) Nelson.

Widow of Solomon S. Bigelow, who died 25 Aug 1863 of typhoid fever, at Nicholasville, KY, as a member of Co. I, 36th Massachusetts Regiment.
She received a widow's pension for his service, along with a childrens' allowance for her three orphaned daughters.
(Note: her 3rd living daughter, Jennie E. Bigelow, b. 4 Dec 1854, later married Fred Gleason.)
