She was a hard working woman who spent her time gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was known for her fabulous pecan pies and buttermilk pies. She enjoyed listening to WMPM radio and working crossword puzzles. She had a love for animals and always had a small dog around - Freckles for many years and then Lucy - and sometimes a stray cat or three. She was always busy, shuffling around the house in her pink slippers.
Vadie never smoked, never drank, never used bad language. She was a good Christian woman. She was an active member of Antioch United Methodist Church - Hwy 701S, Stricklands Crossroads, Four Oaks, North Carolina. She stayed sharp until her body just gave out. She and Ed were married for 74 years until death did part them. Surviving at the time of her passing are her husband, a son, five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
