Gaskey M. Denton, 96, of Beatrice died at Beatrice Good Samaritan on Monday, October 6, 2014. She was born on June 6, 1918 at Pickrell and attended Logan Center Country School. She lived on a farm northwest of Filley before moving into Beatrice in 1941.

She married Harry Denton on July 4, 1942 at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell.

She worked at Happy Hour Café and Busy B Café for 25 years and also worked part-time at the Elks Club, retiring in 1985.

She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church and currently a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice where she was a member of the quilting group and a Sunday School teacher. She was a Cub Scout Leader and enjoyed her flower gardens, garage sales, doing handywork and camping.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Williams of Pickrell; three sons, Thomas Denton of Beatrice, Wayne Denton of Glenpool, OK and Dallas Denton and wife Karen of Beatrice; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert Denton and wife Phyllis of Las Vegas, NV; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harm and Emma Jurgens Ackerman; her husband Harry, who died on April 24, 1997; brother, John Ackerman; sister, Trientje Denton; son-in-law, Sherman Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice.

A memorial has been established to the Good Samaritan Trinity Garden.

The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until time of services on Saturday with the family meeting and greeting friends and relatives on Friday, October 10th from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
