Ms. Winnie M. Poche died Thursday, July 31, 2014. She was 94 years old. Ms. Poche was a native of Head of Island.
She was a retired employee of the Ascension Parish School system as a Lunchroom Supervisor at Gonzales High School; where she worked for 28 years.
Ms. Poche is survived by her children: Shirley Brecheen, Sylvia Bourque and husband, Murphy "M.J.", Adley J. Poche', Jr. and wife, Laura Nelwyn, and Raymond Poche' and wife, Cynthia; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 18 great great grandchildren; other relatives; and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Adley Joseph Poche', Sr.; her beloved parents: Lawrence and Mary Brown Aime; 2 grandchildren: Sherri Bourque and Buddy Poche'; 8 sisters: Mae Aime, Edna Aime, Bessie Aime Montalbano, Elizabeth Aime Shillings, Emma Aime Moran, Eva Aime Letulle, Jeannet Aime Dunham, and Grace Aime Cannon; and 5 brothers: Able, Johnny, Lawrence Jr., Dennis, and Emile Aime.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Gonzales, Louisiana. Ms. Poche was laid to rest alongside her beloved husband at Prairieville Community Cemetery in Prairieville, Louisiana.
