Michael, 66, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant. He was the son of Floyd and Irene Wells Leffingwell.
Michael was a 1965 graduate of Shepherd High School and graduated from Barber School. He was a barber for over 40 years and was a lifetime resident of the area.
On October 17, 1986, Michael married Diane Purdy at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
He was a form Shepherd Jaycee member. He worked at Ace Hardware for many years, was an umpire for women’s softball in the 80’s, loved word working, watched the Red Wings, Tiger Baseball, and played the guitar.
Michael is survived by his children, Kevin Leffingwell of Mt. Pleasant, Jennifer and Jeff Jun of Perry, Christopher Leffingwell of Mt. Pleasant, and Nicholas and Melissa Leffingwell of Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, CO; three grand children, Emilie, Aiden, and Evan Jun; and three brothers, Harold and Dian Leffingwell of Mt. Pleasant, Kenneth and Kaylee Leffingwell of Alpharetta, GA, and David Leffingwell of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane, and his parents.
