Obituary for Albert Murdock

Albert Elmore Murdock
Albert Elmore Murdock started his journey in this life May 25, 1947, being the youngest son born into the special loving home of Homer and Bessie Murdock. He completed his journey of this chapter in life on Sunday evening, September 28, 2014, at his home in Longview, Texas, with his faithful and loving Lord, wife, and children by his side.
Awaiting and welcoming him in Glory not only was his Lord and Savior, but his mom and dad, Mom and Dad Parlier, Bro. Ronnie, Mr. Jack, Dayton, Bill, Bro. David, Ms. Carrie, Bro. Sebron and Ms. Virginia, Bro. Thomas, Ms. McAfee, Ms. Nellie, Ms. Guinn, Mike, Bro. Tom, Little Robbie, Patti, Steve, grandpas, grandmothers and so many more that have already gone on. These just name a few...
Born in Lexington, Virginia, Albert spent most of his early life growing up in the mountains of North Carolina. Upon moving to Longview, Texas, he went to work for a true friend and special employer, Dayton Beasley at Cloud’s Food Service where he worked until his health forced him to an early retirement a couple years ago.
He was called by God into the ministry in 1972 and was a faithful servant of God sharing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ whenever a door opened. Those being at a church, pastoring or supplying, retirement facility, nursng home, or just in daily life on the job and with his family and friends.
He was very passionate about his Lord, his family, friends and his church. He could really get excited when telling people about the love of God and all that He had done for him. He was a very special man; he enjoyed life and loved people and they loved and cared for him. That has been so evident in the outpouring of prayers and love for him and family in these past few months and days. For that we are so thankful and blessed. We would love for you to join us in celebration of Albert’s life on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Judson with Bro. Jim Crump officiating. Services are under the direction of Welch Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 1, 6-8 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road.
Flowers are appreciated but in lieu of flowers, family asks if you wish that memorials be made in his honor to First Baptist Church Judson Children’s AWANA program or Judson Cemetery perpetual care, c/o First Baptist Church Judson, 2038 FM 1844, Judson, TX 75660.
