Maxine F. “Mackie” Ford, 100 of Bunker Hill formerly of (Big Flint Community) Salem departed this life on Tuesday September 9, 2014 in the Berkley Medical Center, Martinsburg. She was born on August 6, 1914 on Big Battle Doddridge County a daughter of the late Jesse C. Ford Sr. and Eska P. Hutson Ford.

Surviving is four sisters, Burnetta Hoskinson, Big Flint, Marjorie Overstreet, Austin, TX, Udora Keys, Bunker Hill, Velora Howerton and husband John, Annapolis, MD, two brothers, Okey Ford, Steubenville, OH, Homer Ford, Miletus and several nieces and nephews. One sister, Pauline Ash, and two brothers, Forest Glenn Ford and Jesse Ford preceded her in death.

Miss Ford was a former employee of Harvey Industries, where she worked in the etching and packing department. She was a member of Welcome Baptist Church, Big Battle.

Mackie enjoyed quilting, corresponding with her friends and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 1PM with Pastor Michael Ford presiding. Interment will follow in the Keys Cemetery, Big Flint. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday, September 15 after 11AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Keys Cemetery, c/o Liberty Baptist Church, 54 McMillan Farm Rd. West Union, WV 26456. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.harbertfuneralhome.com. Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Ford family.
