Walker Lake Bulletin, 8/3/1887:

E.P. Davis Dead. Word was received on Monday that E.P. Davis, one of the very old timers of this section, had died. Mr. Davis was a resident of Aurora for many years and formerly owned some valuable property there. For some time he had been in charge of the old Courthouse at Aurora. At the time of his death which occurred Sunday he was about seventy years old.

Reno Evening Gazette, 8/4/1887: DIED. DAVIS – In Aurora, Nevada, July 30, 1887, E.P. Davis, aged 70 years.

Esmeralda News, 6 Aug 1887:

E.P. Davis, having departed this life, it became necessary for the Board (of Commissioners) to appoint a watchman for the County buildings in Aurora for the place thus made vacant. W.J. Vernon was appointed as such watchmen at a compensation of $5 per month until the further order of the Board.

Esmeralda News, 6 Aug 1887:

Obituary. E.P. Davis, an old and respected citizen of Aurora, died at that place last Sunday. He came to this Coast in the early days and was one of the earliest inhabitants of Aurora. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and at one time held the office of Grand Warden of the Nevada, Grand Lodge. His death was the result of old age, for he was in his seventies when he died. He justly merited the esteem of those who knew him and by his death Aurora is deprived of one of its best citizens.

Esmeralda News, 9/3/1887: Estate of E.P. Davis, deceased, J. Groth appointed Executor without bond.
