Marion Harrup Wright, RScP. (ret.), age 90, graduated into her next expression tonight, April 17, 2016. A native Houstonian, Marion married, raised a son, and worked for Getty Oil for 30 years. For us at Creative Life, she was a mainstay since joining us in 1996, from her home just up the street, curious to find out what we were about. Soon she took every class we offered, then each one many more times just for fun, and she received her practitioner's license in 2003. After that she led classes as well as attending them. She was honored with our SuperK Award in 2004; again when she retired from practitioner service in 2013; and yet again on her last visit to our Center, on the occasion of her 90th birthday. Marion was a proud member of the Greatest Generation, having been a young woman during World War Two. Those are the facts, but threaded through them are so many memories. Marion was a voracious reader and student of everything, who loved to discuss her passionate opinions in classes and groups, or with anyone anytime. She volunteered for absolutely every role or task here, and most summer afternoons for years found her watering our garden. She now rejoins her son Billy and her longtime canine companion Rusty. Rusty's successor April mourns her loss, as do Marion's half brothers, Paul and David Harrup, and half sister, Marie Harrup, and her caregivers in her final months with us, especially Ruth Catalogna, Carthel Smejkal, Deb Barnes, Vicky Jeter, Malen Njeri, and the staff of the Pines at Oakhurst.
