Ruth Clifton, daughter of the late Avery & Minnie Seay Johnson died at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood,KY of congestive heart failure. She was the widow of David Clifton & Dave Clifton. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Nettie Gibson & Virgie Howard and three brothers Roy, Claude & Rueben Johnson.

Surviving are two daughters, Faye Webster & Joan (Lynn) Smith, one son, David (Kim) Clifton, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her family was the greatest joy of her life.

She was a faithful member of the New Liberty Christian Church where she had served as Sunday school teacher, board member and deaconess. She was also a dedicated volunteer at the Owen County Clothing Center since its inception in 1982 and served the community until three weeks before her death.

Services were held at McDonald New Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Wood officiating. The fact the funeral home was full of friends and family ranging in age from 1 to 90 spoke well of the caring, loving woman she was.

This is the official biography. Some day I will write the life story of a woman who meant so much to so many people. For now, Mom, rest in everlasting peace with God.

***********************************************************
Mom, I'm sure you are saying this to us, but it's easier said than done, Such good memories you gave to us all.

"Grieve Not For Me"

Remember the best times, the laughter the songs,
The good life I lived where I was strong.

Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you
Keep smiling and surely the sun will
shine through

My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest,
Remembering all now, I was truly blessed.

Continue traditions, no matter how small
Go on with your life, don't stare at the wall.

I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin
Until the day comes, when we're together again.

Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on. Cherished memories will never fade, because one loved is gone. Those we love can never be, more than a thought apart, for as long as there is a memory, they live with in our heart.
