Martha Ann Kendrick Self, age 83, of McCalla, formerly of Pleasant Grove, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Eugene Self Sr. and her children, David Michael Self, Nancy Carol Self and Jeffery Kendrick Self. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove and currently a member of Baptist Church at McAdory. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Duncan and son-in-law, Joe; son, Wesley “Buster” Self and daughter-in-law, Nancy; grandchildren, Lisa, Karen “KK”, Glen, Jeanette and Jessica; eleven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 12:00 noon at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on the day of the service.
