Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Theresa Bergeron Blanchard of Chauvin; two daughters, Laura Lirette and husband, Stephen, and Carolyn Pellegrin and husband, Murphy, of Chauvin; four grandchildren, Tate Lirette and wife, Christel, Jeremy Lirette and wife, Kim, Tara Portier and husband, Ryan, and Dylan Pellegrin and wife, Kamie; and six great-grandchildren, Taylor Lirette, Mitchel Lirette, Chance Lirette, Mark Portier, Lanie Pellegrin and Anthony John

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Blanchard and Zilda Price Blanchard; four brothers, Magnus, Vanis, Nolan and Adam Blanchard; and two sisters, Leona Blanchard and Beulah Neil.
He was a self-employed fisherman and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a member of the Terrebonne Council on Aging Ward 7, Woodmen of the World, president of the Chauvin Senior Citizens and a board member of the Terrebonne Council on Aging.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, was an avid outdoors man and liked to travel.
