Grandaddy worked hard at the drug store all day. So his favorite thing to do was sit in his chair and watch "Gunsmoke". Most of the time his head was back snoring up a storm. He was a generous man, although not a rich man, he was always emptying his pockets for the Grandkids, so we could go to the dime store and Marshall Theatre and promptly blow every cent. He was a good man and kind of quiet.
His parents were Robert Burns Gowen and Margaret Jane Taylor. Robert Burns was the son of James Jefferson & Permelia Gowen. James Jefferson was the son of James B. Gowen and Lucy Embry.
