Thomas F. McCarthy, 77, of Brockton, died peacefully Oct. 8, 2014, at home. Native of Boston and son of the late Francis and Margaret (McKenna) McCarthy, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had been a heliarc welder with Millwright Union Local No. 1121 for Back Bay Welding and E. H. Hynes. He enjoyed senior golfing at D.W. Field, held a pilots license at Marshfield Airport, and was a member of Holbrook Sportsmens Club and American Legion.
