Dixie Caudill dies

Funeral services for Mrs. Dixie Pearl Newsome Caudill, wife of R. B. Caudill, were held Saturday, June 20, at the Ray Collins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Caudill was married early in life to Herbert Campbell, and they had one daughter. Later, she married R. B. Caudill, who at that time was a widower with five young daughters, and had two additional children.

Mrs. Caudill, 56, was survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Burke of Chicago, and Mrs. Della Collier, Whitesburg; one son, Robert Caudill of Chicago, and five step-daughters, Mrs. Inez Newsome, Mrs. Mary Hall and Mrs. Faye Gillum, Chicago, Mrs. Fern Brown, Whitesburg, and Mrs. Anis Ison of Fairborn, Ohio; and by four brothers, Gardner Newsome, Darling Newsome, Lawrence Newsome, Jr., and Charles Newsome, and four sisters, Mrs. Stella Thornsberry, Mrs. Gracie Bowling, Mrs. Martha Gilliespi and Mrs. Francis Johnson.

Burial was in the family plot of the R. B. Caudill cemetery. Ministers were Elders I. D. Back, Bill Sparks, and Raymond Collins.
