Born in Rhodell, W.Va., he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Bolen) Asbury.
James was a member of IBEW Local No. 380 and worked for Asplundh Tree Service as a foreman for 36 years.
Surviving with his wife of 59 years is daughter Terry Shackelford of Fairmont, W.Va.; son Hank Asbury of Pottstown; grandchildren, Ian, Tessa, Brittani, Elizabeth and Eric; five great-grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters.
Along with his parents he is predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
A funeral service will be Friday, 11 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, with the Rev. Jack Mason Officiating. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories. Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
