Mrs. Eloise Ashby Cummins, age 83, of 10 Hood Dr., Rome, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013, at a local hospital. Mrs. Cummins was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 24, 1929, daughter of the late Clarence G. Ashby and Eloise Roberts Ashby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wade Leland Cummins. Mrs. Cummins was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church. She impacted numerous lives in positive ways with her charitable actions through her businesses and personal efforts. Mrs. Cummins will be remembered as a true genteel Southern Lady and Matriarch. Her wisdom and hospitality will continue to impact us daily and influence future generations. Survivors include her three sons, Henry E. Dean, III, and his wife, Caroline, Rome, Clarence Ashby Dean, Okeechobee, FL, and Thomas D. S. Dean, Sr., and his wife, Stacia, Jacksonville, FL; one daughter, Eloise A. Slade, and her husband William, Jacksonville, FL; ten grandchildren, Henry E. Dean, IV, Charles A. A. Dean, Alexander L. Dean, Clarence Dean, Jr., Robert R. Dean, Thomas D. S. Dean, Jr., Clinton P. Dean, Eloise Virginia Dean, Lee Hollingsworth Dean, and Jonathan Slade; 2 great grandchildren, Lillian and Alora Dean; nieces and nephews also survive.
