Mae Catherine Abshire Webster, 86 of Boones Mill, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at her home. She was a daughter of the late William R. and Flora Mills Abshire. She was a longtime member of Boones Mill Church of the Brethren and taught Sunday School for many years. She attended regularly until her health declined. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Raymond Webster; son Claude R. Webster; sister, Jane Ellen Cundiff; brothers, Jesse, Paul, Randolph Abshire; infant brother David Abshire. Surviving are her son Tom Webster and special friend Fran Lynch, Boones Mill; daughter-in-law Liz Webster, Boones Mill; grandchildren Steve and Tanya Webster, Hardy, Nancy and Steve Furrow, Boones Mill; great-grandchildren, Kristen and Josh Jager, Kelly and Katie Furrow; great-great-grandson, Jacob Jager; brother and sisters-in-law, Howard and Jackie Abshire, Boones Mill, Helen Abshire, Roanoke; sister and brothers-in-law, Naomi and Cecil Wingo, Roanoke, Walter (Potts) Cundiff, Rocky Mount; special sisters-in-law, Marie Abshire, Boones Mill and Melva Atkins, Montvale; nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to her loyal and faithful caregivers, Maxine Cobb, Reba Sexton and Olivia Starkey. Funeral services will be conducted from Boones Mill Church of the Brethren 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Robert Miller and Rev. Dr. William E. Abshire officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Boones Mill Church of the Brethren, 25366 Virgil H. Goode Hwy, Boones Mill, Va. 24065. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister and friend to all.
