Mrs. Center graduated from the Registered Nursing Program of Louisville General Hospital and Massie Memorial Hospital in Paris, Kentucky in 1942. She returned to Wolfe County and served as the public health nurse for thirty one years. She also served on the Board of Directors of Farmers and Traders Bank of Campton, Kentucky for many years and was an active member of the Wolfe County Women's Club, as well as, other civic organizations. As a life - long member of Campton First United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday school, served on the board of Trustees and was a member of United Methodist Women.
