Born on Jan. 10, 1915, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Cooksey) Wainscott.
She married Harlon Simpson, and he preceded her in death in 1960.
Mrs. Simpson had lived in Shelbyville before moving to Mesa to live for the past 30 years. She had been employed with the Indianapolis Statehouse as a Democratic Party mail clerk.
Survivors include a daughter, Millie J. Cook, Chandler, Ariz.; a son, Michael Wayne Simpson, Shelbyville; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, a daughter and a grandson.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. No visitation will be observed.
