And with his family moved to the Bonanza King Mine, in the eastern Mojave Desert until the age of two. Then the family moved to the Standard Mine where his father and brothers, Thatcher, Joe, Jack and Dick worked the Standard Mine, Neenach and Yellow Dog mines until 1935.
In 1935 the family moved to the Cleveland Mine south of Big Pine. Don went to Big Pine Schools from 1935 to 1938.
In 1938 the family moved to Independence where Don completed his education. While in Independence Don worked with his father and brothers at the Reward Mine.
In 1946 he met and married Barbara, and from this union a son Ronald was born.
In 1948 Don and his family moved to the Los Angeles area where he worked on the repairing of furnaces and refrigerators.
In 1950 Don was inducted into the U.S. Army and served in Korea, during the Korean War.
After his discharge in 1952, Don moved to Lone Pine where he worked at the mines in the Darwin and Randsburg districts, and for a while was a bartender.
In 1955 Don moved to the state of Washington to work on road construction returning to Bishop in 1960, where he worked at the Vanadium Mine until 1965. At this time Don moved to the Los Angeles area to pursue a career in sales, where he remained until his death February 28, 1990.
As in the past T. L. has found another mother lode and has called on his sons to help him, one at a time, Dick Jack, Joe and Don.
Don is survived by his son Ronald and two grandchildren, Jeff and Julie of Tulare, sisters Doris Ferber, Dixie Sweger and June Bagwell all of Lone Pine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
