Joseph J. Fox was the sixth child of Paul and Mary (Hagemann) Fuchs of Uniontown (Whitman County) WA. He was raised in Uniontown and graduated from the Uniontown high school. He then attended Gonzaga University in Spokane for two years. He married Edna Shaeffer in 1925 (she died in 1965). Also in 1925 he commenced employment with the Washington Water Power Co. as an area sales manager at Pullman. He later served in Lewiston ID until his retirement in 1965 (40 year employee). He later married Pauline Gusseck at Lewiston in 1968. He was a member of the Elks Lodge at Lewiston and a member of the school board. He was also a member of the Nez Perce Historical Society. Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman all of his life. Two children of his first marriage: Gordon Fox (1934-1962) and one daughter, born 1931, living at the time of his death in 1994. Cremation followed the service by the Rev. J. Stanley Lyman of Lewiston, ID.
