Rev. Arthur C. Roberts, 82, of old Easley Bridge Rd. Easley, SC passed from this painful life into that Heavenly home of no pain on Sept. 25, 2014. He pastored Churches throughout the upstate, Piedmont, Honea Path, Lancaster, Greenville and Easley, and Seneca. Born in Greenville, SC July 7, 1932 to Arthur C. Roberts Sr.(burial in Winder Ga.) and Pearl Bennefield Roberts(Burial in Graceland cemetery, Pearl Cantrell) He predeceased by his parents and his only sibling, with whom they shared the same birthday 6 yrs apart, Alma Ruth R. Daughtry July 7,1926-Feb 8,1992
(married Willie Freddy Daughtry, PFC WW2, of NC, deceased also Feb. 8, 1980) of Newton Grove, NC. She was hit by DUI driver.(burial in Sampson County NC, Oak Grove Church on Warren Mill Rd)
Mr. Roberts served his country in the Army as a Military Policeman in Ohio, where he met and married Alma Loraine Dowers of Cincinnati Ohio.
They had 6 children:
(1) Alma Yvonne R Smith(David) of Simpsonville SC, Mother to two of his 12 precious grandchildren, Kimberly P. Fazio of Greenville and Charlotte S. Blankenship, who is mom to his first great grand-daughter, Ivy Briana Blankenship of Simpsonville SC,
(2) Gray Lee Roberts(Peggy) of Easley SC,They have 3 children & 2 grandchildren
(3) Terry Lee Roberts Pelzer SC,
(4)Billy Wayne Roberts(deceased at birth)
(5)Cheryl R Blanton(Michael) of NC, had 2 daughters, and
(6) Kay Roberts, 5 children, of Easley. 5 great grands.
He is also survived by 1 niece, Linda Gayle Daughtry Bizzell,(Smithfield, NC) 2 Nephews, Travis & Doyle Daughtry and their extended family, all of Newton Grove NC area.
Grand-daughters, Kimberly & Charlotte wish to say they loved their Pa-Pa and they will reunite someday!, And they know he will be watching over them. WE LOVE YOU PA-PA!
Services held September 30, 2014 at Roanoak Baptist Church in Pickens SC by Rev. Clyde(Jr) Gravely, and Rev. Jack Shook, with burial in the church cemetery.
