Obituary Wayne L. Adams, age 86, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at home. He was born in Adams County on Aug. 19, 1928, the son of Clarence and Alvina (Nelson) Adams. He served in the U.S. Navy on the destroyer, Bordelon. He married Gwendolyn Knopes in Janesville on Feb. 20, 1954, and she preceded him in death on May 4, 2011. Wayne enjoyed volunteering for the Moose Lodge, and receiving the Governor Status, and Prestigious Pilgrim Award on Sept. 11, 2010. In 2012, he was honored to ride with his brother on the 2012 Vets Roll tour. Wayne always looked forward to his annual Canada fishing trip with his friends, and was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. Most of all he was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. Wayne is survived by his 3 daughters: Lori (Gye) Barnes of Belvidere, Cindy (Bill) Smith of Colorado and Cheryl (Kim) Kaas of Janesville; son, Steven Adams of Janesville; 8 grandchildren: Kristi (Michael) Morris, Kyle and Kris Adams, Scott (Stacey) Barnes, Angela and Eric Adams, and Chelsea (Casey Kleven) and Lyndsey Kaas; 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Vilas Adams and Keith (LaVerne) Adams; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother Arden Adams. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 to 11:30 am at Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
