Funeral Service for Ella Charlotte Rasmussen, 84, of Sisseton, SD, was held on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church, rural Eden, SD, with Rev. Clara Wadsworth officiating. Pallbearers were "All of Ella's Grandchildren". Honorary Pallbearers were "All of Ella's Friends." Organist was Ginger Rasmussen. Special music was provided by Ginger and Collin Rasmussen. Interment was in the Buffalo Lake Lutheran Cemetery, rural Eden, SD. Visitation was Friday, March 5, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Family Prayer Service. Visitation was also one hour prior to services at the church. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD, was in charge of arrangements.

Ella Charlotte Anderson was born on December 28, 1919 in Bristol, SD, to Ernest and Hannah (Christopherson) Anderson. Ella grew up and attended grammer school at Wildrose Country School and graduated High School in 1938 at Lily, SD. Ella then attended St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul, MN where she attended for one year. After her education Ella held various jobs in the Twin Cities and also traveled with her folks to Utah for a short time.

She returned to the Sisseton area and was married to Otis Rasmussen on June 14, 1947 in Watertown, SD. The couple worked the Rasmussen homestead and they raised their family. Ella was organist for the Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid. Ella enjoyed embroidery, playing the piano, and spending time with grandchildren. Otis passed away on March 7, 1991, then Ella moved into Sisseton, where she lived until she entered the Lundstrom Care Center, where she passed away on March 3, 2004.

Ella is survived by four children, Randy and Gerri Rasmussen of Cokato, MN, Terry and DeLaine Rasmussen of Sisseton, SD, Rebecca Henning of Roslyn, SD, and Dick Rasmussen of Sisseton, SD; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Breuklander of Standwood, WA, and Ethel and Clarence Lacy of Vancouver, WA; one brother, Sheldon and Thelma Anderson of Sunnyvale, CA; thirteen grandchild; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Eleanor and Pearl; and three brothers, Conrad, Arvid and Clayton; and one infant sibling.
