BROOKS, Charles F. Sr., 67, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 14, 2014, after a valiant fight with chronic illnesses. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Nannie Brooks; sister, Barbara Carter; and brother, Linwood Brooks. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, . . . He was a long-time member of New Bethesda Baptist Church, formerly having served as a deacon who loved his family, grandchildren and his extended church family. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park.
