Born Dolores Paparella in Brooklyn, she moved to Bulls Head in 1967.
She worked as a bus matron at Atlantic Express Transportation Corp in Port Richmond for twenty-three years.
An avid reader, she enjoyed cooking, dining out, and visiting Atlantic City. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years, Joseph, who died in 1993, and her daughter, Diane Acierno-Gritzek, who died in 2014.
She is survived by her son, Anthony, and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Saturday from the Matthew Funeral Home, Willowbrook, with a mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rita's R.C. Church, Meiers Corners.
Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
