An obit published in the Wagner (SD) Post but not dated indicated he was born in the district of Labnan, Syria in 1865 and died July 11, 1945 after a lengthy illness. In 1895 he left Syria and came to the US, directly to Sioux City, Iowa. In 1899 he and Rose Stevens (spelled Stevan incorrectly in the obit) then they moved to Wagner, SD in 1910. He was survived by his wife; 5 sons: Joseph Abdouch, Peter Abdouch, George, Sgt. John Abdouch stationed in the Pacific War area; Oscar Abdouch somewhere in occupied Germany; a daughter: Lulu. He was also survived by 1 brother: Michael Abdauch (spelled incorrectly in obit) Sioux City, IA; 3 sisters: Mrs. Tom Betros, Sioux City, IA; Mrs. Sarah Abbott, Spring Valley, Ill.; Mrs. Mary Hage, Lebnan, Syria. It went on to say that prior to going to Sioux City, IA for burial, services were held at the Kostel Funeral Home in Wagner, SD on Friday Morning. Church Services were held in Sioux City, IA on Saturday, July 14 at the St. Thomas Orthadox Church. Burial was in the family lot at the St. Thomas cemetery.
