Edward Coyle Robinson, 91, passed to his reward Monday, February 27, 2006 at Georgetown Community Hospital. A native of Scott County, he spent his life as a farmer and worked as a livestock dealer. He was the son of the late H L & Virginia Coyle Robinson and was a graduate of Georgetown College and a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He attended the US Military Academy at West Point. He served in the Pacific in the US Naval Reserve as gunnery officer aboard the LST 456 from 1942-1945. General MacArthur waded ashore at the Philipines next to Lt. Robinson who was on his beached LST. He was a member and former deacon of the First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Houston White Robinson, originally of Donora, Pennsylvania and Lexington, Virginia; his only child Elizabeth Houston Robinson; a brother William B Robinson; a sister Dorothy Robinson Cox; a brother in law, A Fred White Jr; and a sister in law Martha White Turner.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, H Lewis Robinson Jr and John R Robinson.

A devoted son, husband, father and brother, he will be remembered for his determination, strength, integrity, courage, charm and unwillingness to compromise.

Funeral services will be graveside in the Georgetown Cemetery at 3:30 pm Friday conducted by Rev. Samuel Pendergrast followed with Military rites. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thuirsday at Johnson's Funeral Home. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or one's favorite charity.
