Cindy Mazie Shumate, 87, of Elk Spur Street passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 13, 2003, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin.

Mrs. Shumate was born in Wilkes County Feb. 15, 1915 to William Patterson Hall and Lillie Coe Hall.

Her parents; husband Bryce Shumate; four brothers, Mark Hall, Jim Hall, Rob Hall and Kerley Hall; a half-brother, Ike Hall; and a half-sister, Sarah Waldrip, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Barney Hall of Elkin; a special friend Karen Carrier of Jonesville; two brothers, Ed (Alice) Hall of Elkin; Arcus (Geneva) Hall of Ronda; a sister, Ella Garris of East Bend.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Elkin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
