Carl D. Himmelberger, 87, formerly of Coopersburg, passed away Tuesday June 23, 2009 in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Louise M. (Knappenberger) Himmelberger. Carl was born in Allentown a son of the late Henry Franklin and Marguerite M. (Butz) Himmelberger. He owned and operated Carls Sunoco of Center Valley until 1973 and ODD Jobs for 10 years until retiring in 1982. He was a member and served as a former deacon of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Coopersburg. Carl was a charter member of the Coopersburg Jaycees and the American Legion. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.

Survivors: Son: David C. husband of Linda M. Himmelberger of Bethlehem; Daughters: Mary L. wife of Eddy L. Helsel of Coopersburg and Dawn M. Sanner of Towanda, KS; Brothers: Franklin Himmelberger of Coopersburg and Edward husband of Dolores Himmelberger of Beach Haven Park, NJ; Sister: Joyce M. wife of Richard Eisenhart of Coopersburg; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his Grandson Neal Sanner.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Stephens Funeral Home Inc. 1335-37 Linden St. Allentown. Call 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Coopersburg.
