The Correctionville News, 13 April 1972, page 1: Ella Marie Goodman, daughter of Bernhardt and Martha (Jansen) Petersen, was born February 28, 1896, in the Midway community near Anthon. She resided in the Anthon area her entire lifetime except for 5 years in Holstein. Before her marriage she was employed at Sam Kossove's General Store in Anthon. On February 22, 1917, she married C. Oscar Goodman at Anthon. They farmed until eleven years ago when they moved into town. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Anthon and the WSCS. She passed away April 6, 1972, at her home in Anthon at the age of 76. She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Marvin (Marjorie) Jansen of Anthon, five sons, Clarence of Sioux City, Benjamin of Phoenix, Arizona, Paul of Norfolk, Nebraska, Robert of Battle Creek and Conrad of Hartford, North Carolina. She also has three brothers, Thomas Sr., Jens and John Petersen, all of Anthon, sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister. Services were held at the Anthon Methodist Church on Monday, April 10, at 1 p.m. With Rev. Donald Harbour officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City under direction of Walter Funeral Home.
