Pioneer Resident of Palmer Vicinity Is Buried Monday
Mrs. John O'Brien Dies After Brief Illness; Moved to Pocahontas County 50 Years Ago.

Mrs. Bridget McAuliff O'Brien, a pioneer resident of the Palmer vicinity died at her home Friday morning at the age of 75 years. She was ill only a few days with influenza. Funeral services were held Monday at 9 a.m. from the St. Mary's church of Palmer, with the Rev. Father Lynch of Manson in charge. Burial was made in the Pomeroy cemetery beside the body of her husband who preceded her in death by six years. Mrs. O'Brien was born in Canada where she was married to John O'Brien, Feb. 3, 1879. The young couple moved to Pocahontas county one month after their marriage. Once settled, the O'Brien's became substantial citizens of the community and raised a family of ten children. Eight of the children survive their mother. They are Will of Van-Meter, S. Dak., John, Martin, Mrs. William Lampe, Mrs. William Kreul, Mrs. Henry Lampe, jr., Mrs. Mike Quinn and Mrs. Frank Harrold, all of the Pocahontas vicinity.

Mrs. Bridget McAuliff O'Brien, a pioneer resident of the Palmer vicinity died at her home Friday morning at the age of 75 years. She was ill only a few days with influenza. Funeral services were held Monday at 9 a.m. from the St. Mary's church of Palmer, with the Rev. Father Lynch of Manson in charge. Burial was made in the Pomeroy cemetery beside the body of her husband who preceded her in death by six years. Mrs. O'Brien was born in Canada where she was married to John O'Brien, Feb. 3, 1879. The young couple moved to Pocahontas county one month after their marriage. Once settled, the O'Brien's became substantial citizens of the community and raised a family of ten children. Eight of the children survive their mother. They are Will of Van-Meter, S.
