Rinard returned to Madera after college and began working with his father on the family farm, which was struggling in the Depression era. Conditions gradually improved and he was able to start his own ranch in southern Madera. He leased and farmed dry land grain, cotton, alfalfa and later planted almonds and a vineyard. He married Dorothy Boutell, a Madera high school teacher in 1947 and they raised three children. They were married for 47 years until her death in 1994.
Rinard was an avid hunter in his youth and later an equally enthusiastic golfer playing in many tournaments locally. He was active in Rotary and he and his wife traveled extensively in their later years. He encouraged his children to participate in the family farm and they will miss him greatly.
He is survived by his three children, Barbara Pitman of Fresno, Darrell Pitman of Visalia, and Renald Pitman and his wife, Lyda and their daughters Carey and Tera all of Madera. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Pitman of Madera and several nieces and nephews.
