DUECK _The passing of Lillian Dorothy Dueck (nee Roth), age 81, occurred suddenly on Sunday, November 9, 2003. Lillian was born on September 17, 1922 in Rosthern, SK, to Herman and Elizabeth Roth. She married David J. Dueck on October 29, 1944 in The Eigenheim Mennonite Church, Rosthern, SK. Our parents farmed at Rosthern until 1962, they then moved to Rosthern and lived there until 1978. During this time, Mom worked as a nurses aide at Rosthern Union Hospital for several years. In 1978, Mom and Dad moved to Saskatoon, where together they enjoyed gardening, entertaining and spending time with their grandchildren. Two years following Dad's death, Mom moved into a condominium where she made many friends and enjoyed and appreciated their company. She is survived by her children, Wayne (Carry) and their sons, Colin (Kirsten Hammer) and Greg (Rani Behl); Marilyn (Peter Guenther) and their sons, Bruce, Brent and David; Lyle (Janet Rempel); Lois (Paul Tiessen) and their children, Nicole, Brent, Derek, Peter and Alison. She is also survived by her brother, Ed (Mary) Roth; her sister, Alice (Diedrich Dyck); sisters-in-law, Anne Roth, Bette Roth, Mary Dueck and Martha Dueck. She was predeceased by her husband, David J. Dueck in 1992; her parents, Herman and Elizabeth Roth; and four siblings. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. in Nutana Park Mennonite Church, 1701 Ruth St., Saskatoon on Thursday, November 13, 2003. Interment to follow at Eigenheim Mennonite Church Cemetery, Rosthern, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Lillian Dueck to Rosthern Junior College, Rosthern, SK. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME, 244-5577.
