Percy Allen Dies At 76

Services for Percy G. Allen, 76, Portland laundry and dry cleaners businessman since 1909, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary. Vault interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Mr. Allen died Saturday at his home, 3347 NE Oregon St. He was born in Lareta, Colo., July 4, 1884.

In 1909 Mr. Allen came to Portland, where he entered the laundry business. In 1912 he organized the Crystal Laundry and in 1918 took over the Troy Laundry. Three years later he organized Allyn's Dyers and Cleaners.

He was a life member of Portland Rotary Club, where he had a perfect meeting attendance record for 26 years. He was also a member of Roytal Rosarians, Royal Birds, Portland Chamber of Commerce, Laundry & Dry Cleaners Association, and Knights of Pythias.

Survivors include the widow, Henrietta, Portland; a sister, Mrs. Jessie B. Jones, Pasadena, Calif.
