DANIEL PATRICK MONAGHAN
July 11, 1947 ~ Dec. 3, 2009

Daniel Patrick Monaghan, 62, fought a valiant battle and died "too soon" (in his own words) on Dec. 3, 2009 at Southwest Washington Medical Center where he was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Vancouver, WA on July 11, 1947. He attended Fort Vancouver High School where he enjoyed running cross country and spending time with valued friends.

Daniel was drafted into the Army in 1967 and served in Vietnam (1968-1969), receiving various medals including the Purple Heart.

He was a sponsor to many who will never forget his love and support. He now resides in peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Daniel was lovingly called "Danny Boy"
by those who loved him most.

Remember him with his favorite prayer,
God grant me the serenity to accept the things
I cannot change. Courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

Daniel's father, mother, brothers, Joseph, Michael, John "Jack", and his oldest sister, Diana preceded him in death, leaving Isabel "Cookie" M. Quirk (David) as his only living sibling. Daniel had a very special cousin, Pamela Stravinsky; ten nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins who hold a special place in his heart.

A memorial service will be held on Fri., Dec. 11, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
...
Daniel was the son of Michael Joseph and Isabel Marcella (Stravinsky) Geary.

Daniel enlisted into the US Army on November 30, 1967. His release date was December 4, 1969.
