1995 Nov 5 - Tustin - Abe Nelson was born Wednesday 7 Feb 1923 in Cherry Grove Township to Louis R 'Louie' & Delcie (Yager) Nelson. He married Mildred Dorice 'Mick' Kanouse Holmgren Saturday 1 Jan 1949 in Tustin. He attended school in Cadillac and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy for six years. He was employed at Cadillac Plywood, Chris-Craft and Brooks and Perkins, and operated a television shop in his home. He was a member of the VFW Blue Mountain Post #6015 in Marion. He enjoyed trapping for several years.


Abe Nelson of Tustin died Sunday 5 Nov 1995 at the age of 72 y 8 m 29 d his home. Survivors included his wife; 14 siblings; 2 daughters; and 1 step-son. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Delcie Anderson 15 Oct 1995; and 1 brother, Claud Nelson14 Sep 1941 .


Visitation was from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday 7 Nov 1995 at Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Funeral services were 1 pm at Peterson Funeral Home with Rev Robert Kahly officiating. Military graveside services were at the Burdell Township Cemetery.


Burial was in Burdell Township Cemetery in Tustin.
