Virginia "Jenny" S. Board, 66, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005.

A funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 from First Baptist Church. Burial followed in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 337, Cheraw, S.C. 29520.

Born in Hartsville, Mrs. Board was a daughter of the late Willie Joshua and Annie Mae Hall Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher and a Senior Circle volunteer for the Episcopal Church thrift store.

Surviving are her husband, William R. "Buddy" Board; two daughters, Elaine B. Hodges of Hartsville, and Laurie B. Jordan of Conway; two brothers, Lynwood Smith and Willie J. Smith of Hartsville; five sisters, Hazel S. Platt of West Columbia, Bobbie S. Linton of Kernersville, N.C., Joyce S. Gainey of Patrick, Phyllis Teague of Lowell, N.C., and Wanda S. Melton of Simpsonville; and a grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Smith.

Arrangements were entrusted to Kiser Funeral Home.
